:: Why not use one of the software auto-submit solutions? ::
There are tools you can buy that will "optimize" your pages for you, connect you to link farms, auto list you indiscriminately with every database that allows auto-submissions and automatically check your ranking on the search engine of choice. These tools give you a generic solution and also cause problems as the rules change. (For instance, link farms will now harm you rather than help and Google has threatened to de-list people who use these tools to check their ranking because of the way they interact with the Google database. They are specifically asking developers to not use Search Engine Gold and Search Engine Commando as they do not feel these are "Google friendly.")
