A. Usually, it takes a shopping cart and a way to process the payments. If you are only selling 1 item, you can have it processed through a third party for a fee. For most websites, a shopping cart is the right answer.
Q. How do I take payments?
A. There are several options regarding how to process the payments, usually credit cards. For businesses that project selling thousands a month at a minimum, a merchant account with the bank of your choice and a "gateway" will be needed. For small businesses or entrepreneurs a shopping cart and account with a third-party to take payments is the low-cost solution.

- Economy Package:
If you are selling a limited number of products and just starting out, you might want to consider this low-cost option.
- MediaZeal will set up a full-service shopping cart that allows you to add or update products yourself.
- Set up a Seller's account with PayPal. Starting fees are 3% plus $.30 a transaction. The percentage is lowered after your first $3500 of sales. MediaZeal will link your shopping cart to PayPal. The buyer will see that they are being processed by PayPal (owned by ebay) and will be returned to your website following the transaction.
- Mid-Sized Package:
If you are selling a significant number of products, or don't want the buyers to see that they are leaving your site, you can use a second party "gateway" service that will process the credit cards for you but allow you to customize the pages to retain your branding.
